Annote is a reading and note-taking tool. Your notes are yours. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We use these to create your account and nothing else.
- Your notes. Highlights, notes, links, tags, and the URLs of pages you annotate are stored so they can sync across your devices. That is the product.
- Basic usage data. We collect error reports and basic usage signals to keep Annote working and improve it.
What we do with it
- Sync and store your notes so they are available wherever you sign in.
- Power AI features. When you use Anni or AI suggestions, the relevant notes and article text are sent to our AI providers to generate the response. Your notes are not used to train their models.
- Nothing else. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not share your notes with anyone.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your personal information
- Read your notes except as needed to operate the service or with your permission when helping you with support
- Track your browsing. The extension only acts on a page when you highlight something on it.
Your control
You can export your notes at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account and all of its data by emailing support@annote.ai. Deletion is permanent.
