Chrome Installation

Install from Chrome Web Store

1. Visit the Annote Chrome Web Store page
2. Click “Add to Chrome”
3. Click “Add extension” in the popup
4. Wait for the installation to complete

Pin the Extension

1. Click the puzzle piece icon (🧩) in your toolbar
2. Find “Annote” in the list
3. Click the pin icon to keep it visible

Permissions Explained

Annote requests the following permissions:

• Access to all websites: Required to annotate any webpage you visit
• Storage: To save your notes locally
• Identity: For Google Sign-In (optional)

Troubleshooting

Extension doesn’t appear after installation

1. Refresh your browser tabs
2. Check if the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions/
3. Try reinstalling if it still doesn’t appear

Can’t annotate on certain websites

Some websites (like chrome:// pages) restrict extensions for security reasons. This is a browser limitation, not an issue with Annote.

Notes not syncing

Make sure you’re signed in. Click the Annote icon and check your login status.
