Installation

Annote runs as a browser extension, installed from the Chrome Web Store.

It works in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers like Arc, Edge, and Brave. Firefox and Safari are not supported yet.

Install

1. Open the Annote Chrome Web Store page
2. Click Add to Chrome and confirm
3. Click the puzzle-piece icon in your toolbar and pin Annote so it is always in reach
4. When prompted, sign in with Google so your notes sync everywhere

That is the whole setup. Select text on any page and press A to make your first highlight.

Troubleshooting

The Annote button does not appear when I select text. Reload the page after installing; extensions only attach to pages loaded after they are enabled.

The toolbar icon shows a red badge. The extension is not signed in. Click the Annote icon and complete the Google sign-in.
